A second tsunami survivor, a 23-year-old Acehnese man, has been plucked from the stormy Indian Ocean by a container vessel headed for Port Klang, Bernama news agency reported today.

The man, identified as Rizal Sapura, was rescued by the K-Line vessel which had last stopped over in Cape Town and scheduled to arrive at the Malaysian port early Wednesday, Bernama said.

Port public relations manager Vasanthe Narayanasamy said the vessel carrying the Acehnese had sent an S.O.S. signal for arrangements to send him to hospital.

Information on his condition and when he was picked up were not available.

Woman survived five-day ordeal

Last Friday, a Malaysian fishing boat rescued a 23-year-old Acehnese woman who had been drifting in the Indian Ocean for five days not far from the shores of Indonesia's Aceh province, the area hardest hit by the Dec 26 disaster.

Housewife Malawati, 23, sun-burnt and suffering fish bites, was clinging to an uprooted palm trunk which had clusters of fruit on it, helping her get through the ordeal.
