The Kelantan football team is stuck in a peculiar dilemma after receiving a sponsorship offer by cosmetics company Vida Beauty Sdn Bhd.
However to receive the sponsorship, the team known as the Red Warriors for its red uniform, which takes after the state’s official colour, will have to turn pink.
Vida Beauty is behind the popular facial care mid-level cosmetics line Pamoga Qu Puteh.
Vida Beauty founder Hasmiza Othman earlier expressed interest to sponsor the team on condition that the team’s home ground, Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV, is repainted pink and the players rebranded Pamoga Qu Puteh The Red Warriors.
She is also considering including a third condition – for the team kit to be pink, instead of red.
Alternative healing expert Norhisham Wahab told Malaysiakini that this might be a good idea.
The colour therapist said the colour pink will bring positive vibes to the team.
“This colour brings luck, providence and camaraderie to our life,” he said.
Norhisham, a professor in his field, said the colour pink can boost team strength.
“Each player and team has stamina, skill and tactical abilities, but the colour pink can enhance artistry, creativity and vision.
“It will encourage more camaraderie and caring among players. They will be more united in their actions (and less aggressive or hasty),” the Colour Vibration Therapy Sdn Bhd founder said.
Another colour therapy practitioner, Mir Hazil Azran Ramli, said the effect will depend on the type of pink which will be used.
He said the energy will be different according to the degree of red and white in the combination that makes pink.
“Red has a high frequency while white is a low frequency colour, so a combination of the two will bring balance.
“If the pink chosen is heavier to the white side, it will bring about femininity, softness, caring and strong imagination.
“A pink which is leans to red on the spectrum will have more masculine vibes,” he said.
