A vote for Adenan is a vote for Najib
YOURSAY | ‘Sarawakians should send a strong message to both Adenan and Putrajaya.’
Analyst: S'wak BN to give DAP run for its money
Multi Racial:
Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem is doing something right so Sarawakians should give him the benefit of the doubt and retain him.
But Sarawakians must nevertheless send a strong message to both Adenan and the federal government by making sure DAP not only retain their seats but also with increased majorities.
One thing Sarawakians must do is to make sure the opposition - i.e. DAP, PKR and Amanah (excluding PAS) - win all the parliamentary seats in the next general election.
Anonymous_40f4: When Abdullah Ahmad Badawi took over as PM from Dr Mahathir Mohamad, he exploited the feel-good factor and won a landslide in 2008. ‘Work with me, not for me’ were the slogans plastered all over the country.
After the 2008 win, Abdullah showed how inefficient he actually was as PM and eventually the public were disappointed with him and felt cheated.
Now Adenan is again exploiting the feel-good factor after he took over from Abdul Taib Mahmud.
But Adenan is not going to be any different from Abdullah or Taib and the Sarawakians are going to be cheated.
RCZ: The things Adenan is implementing is to win votes and if voters are so stupid as to vote for BN or BN-related parties, they deserve the leaders they vote for.
Everything that Adenan has done can also be done, and done much more, by the opposition if they come into power.
What has Adenan done about the abject poverty in Sarawak where many have no access to water, electricity and good roads? Nothing.
What has Adenan done about Taib and his continued alleged corruption and businesses that have drained, and are still draining, Sarawak’s coffers? Nothing. What has he done about the corruption that is rocking the country? Nothing.
He says give him five more years. Then what? It’s going to be same old, same old.
Daniel: Would the Sarawak state government be doing all these ‘feel goodies’ voluntarily, if not for the threat of losing more seats to the opposition? These are all election ploys and concessions to woo the gullible.
The voters will need to decide if they still trust the incumbent or they will have to endure another five years under a corrupt BN, and lose the moral right to complain, once the election is over.
Send in the Clowns: Adenan, a clean fight is always welcome and let the best man win.
But I doubt BN has that fine quality to fight fair and on the same level-playing field. You cannot make a gentleman out of a scoundrel.
MCA Youth join in to bash DAP over alleged Israeli link
SRMan: It would indeed be naive or even stupid of MCA's Choo Wei Sern to believe PAS' Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki’s claim that DAP was offered US$300 million (RM1.2 billion) in return for the approval to build an Israeli military base in Port Dickson if the party (DAP) took over Putrajaya in the last GE.
No political party including DAP would even consider such a suicidal deal, especially when Israel was said to be involved.
Such a pact, if true, would only see the demise of the new government or perhaps even earlier. This is Malaysia, Choo.
Hplooi: If you are accused of having an affair with another lady which you certainly did not, how would you prove your innocence?
Do you go to the doctor for a report that you did not have sex for the past three years? Even that can be contested as the accuser can now say, either the doctor's test is tainted or it could be 'platonic love' (if there is such a thing).
Or do you allow your accuser to do a complete body search on you? Both are plainly ridiculous and this is precisely what Zuhdi and MCA are loudly asking for.
By right, the burden of proof lies with the accuser, failing which the accuser can be sued for defamation.
Remember the case of the alleged Christian plot some time ago, where the police barged into a religious service amid highly-charged accusation that the DAP was behind a conspiracy to set up a Christian state (whatever that means)?
This is a black-ops by PAS dirty tricks department to destroy Amanah (through guilty by association).
â Not Convincing: Zuhdi’s accusation is ludicrous.
Someone can similarly accuse PAS of getting RM1.2 billion from IS to win GE13, and turn Malaysia into military camp for Southeast Asian caliphate.
