Parti Amanah Negara communications director Khalid Samad said if party members were obsessed about positions, they would have remained in PAS or joined Umno.

On the contrary, the Shah Alam MP added, Amanah members were aware of the risk of losing their positions after leaving PAS.

"We took the risk when we left PAS... So to say Amanah is angry is incorrect.

"Because If we wanted positions, we would not have joined Amanah. We would have remained in PAS or joined Umno," he added.

Khalid was commenting on the reported discontent surrounding the number of local councillor seats allocated to Amanah in the PKR-led Selangor government.

Meanwhile, Khalid claimed Amanah received 10 seats despite state executive councilor Ean Yong Hian Wan stating previously the party was only allotted eight.

"Amanah is satisfied and grateful for being acknowledged as part of the Selangor administration," he said at a press conference in Shah Alam.

Amanah had initially requested for 24 seats.

Meanwhile, asked if Selangor Amanah would request more seats, Khalid said there is no need for it at this point.

"Now, we have to determine the zones to place our local councillors," he added.

On PAS still not wanting to acknowledge Amanah, Khalid said the Islamic party must be more mature.

"Our advice to PAS is be more mature and accept the fact Amanah exists and is part of the Selangor government," he added.

There are 288 local councillor seats in Selangor.

At present, Selangor Amanah plans to place its councillors in Hulu Selangor (two), Sabak Bernam (two), Kuala Selangor (one, Subang (one), Sepang (two) and Kuala Langat (two).

Meanwhile, Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali said he considered the issue over the local council seat allocation to be resolved.

"All the discussion went well and smoothly.

"I am happy with all quarters and all parties have accepted the decided formula," he said after a site visit in Shah Alam today.
