Teja assemblyperson Chang Lih Kang said this will help the opposition pact avoid repeating past mistakes.
"Previously our mistake was, when we got married, we thought we were still bachelors.
"That's why we attacked our component parties, and justified it as democracy. We attacked our friends like we attacked our enemies; that's not right.
"When we are married, there is proper conduct. When you want to come home late, you need to call and say 'darling, I'll be coming home late tonight'," Chang ( photo ) said, to laughter from the crowd.
He was speaking at the Harapan leadership summit in Shah Alam today, where PKR, DAP, and Amanah formally inked a coalition agreement.
The pact among others, improves on the previous common policy framework by making clear that 'agreeing to disagree' is no longer an option in the pact.
Individual parties are allowed to make independent decisions, but must still bide by the consensus decision reached by the Harapan presidential council.
