The Perlis Health Department has urged the state government to support the ban on the sale and use of vape in Perlis, in line with the view of the Health Ministry.
Its director, Dr Zaini Hussin said the department had submitted its proposal and was up to the state government to decide.
"On behalf of the department, we are giving our view and stand after we received a letter from the ministry on the issue (to not allow the sale and use of vape including electronic cigarettes).
"However, I must clarify that we do not have the power to ban. Therefore, I extend this proposal to the state government to consider the ban," he said after a prize presentation for a state-level inter-department and agency woodball competition in Arau, today.
