Help is on hand for the civil servant who had purportedly landed in trouble over a Facebook posting stating that her New Year's wish was for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor to " sedar diri " (come to their senses).
Lawyer Mohd Fadzly Mohd Ramly told Malaysiakini that the Malaysian Lawyers and Human Rights Association (Proguam) is offering legal aid to the Community Development Department (Kemas) officer.
“In this case, I believe that her statement can be considered as fair comment and there are no elements of slander or defamation.
“We are looking for her. She can contact us and we will provide her with legal assistance,” said Fadzly who is Proguam Pahang chairman.
