Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak today visited PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang who has been admitted at the National Heart Institute (IJN) in Kuala Lumpur.

Najib said he took the opportunity to meet Abdul Hadi after paying a visit to his former information officer Nasir Safar who was also admitted.

"I was informed while I was at IJN that Abdul Hadi Awang was also being treated here, so I visited him.

"I pray that Allah will grant him the best of health," he said in a Facebook posting.

Earlier, Najib was at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, which is next to IJN, for a check-up.

The prime minister last week underwent a minor surgery to remove a benign growth from his right hand.

In June 2014, Najib had taken time off to visit Hadi at IJN after the latter returned from Turkey.

Hadi was initially admitted in a hospital in Istanbul with heart problems.

Najib then revealed on Twitter that he had instructed the Malaysian embassy in Turkey to render all necessary assistance to the PAS president.
