MH370 A wreckage, suspected to be from an aircraft and found at a beach in Nakhon Si Thammarat yesterday, was transported to Bangkok today, for further analysis by the country's aviation experts.
This was confirmed by Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) spokesperson Air Vice-Marshal Porngsak Semachai, who said an aircraft transporting the wreckage arrived at the Dong Mueang military airbase at 5pm (6pm Malaysia time).
"The wreckage will be stored at the RTAF Dong Mueng airbase to enable the experts to make further examination," he told Bernama in a telephone interview in Bangkok today.
Two days ago, local fishermen stumbled upon the suspected aircraft wreckage at the Pa Thya beach in Nakhorn Si Thammarat and alerted the authorities, believing the object to belong to the vanished Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
Flight MH370, with 239 passengers and crew disappeared from the radar during a routine flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing on March 8, 2014.
The flight path of the Boeing 777-200ER jetliner was believed to have ended in the southern Indian Ocean.
