We removed ex-Selangor MB properly, unlike Umno, says PKR
A PKR lawmaker from Kedah says the state's menteri besar crisis is nothing like what happened in Selangor.
"We did it very democratically. We gave him (former Selangor menteri besar Khalid Abu Bakar) all the reasons why he should resign.
"We also made our case with the (Selangor) sultan in a proper fashion," Sungai Petani MP Johari Abdul said at a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.
He was responding to a question on the paralells between the Selangor menteri besar crisis in 2014 and Kedah Umno's push to get rid of Mukhriz Mahathir as menteri besar.

He was responding to a question on the paralells between the Selangor menteri besar crisis in 2014 and Kedah Umno's push to get rid of Mukhriz Mahathir as menteri besar.
Kedah Umno's move, he said, was not proper.
Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar, who was also present, said removing Mukhriz without going through proper channels would make the next Kedah government a puppet to Umno president Najib Abdul Razak.
Najib is currently locking horns with Mukhriz's father, Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
"If they succeed in changing MBs, the state government will be a puppet to outside political interests. It would be a toilet paper government," Mahfuz said.
A faction within Kedah Umno, led by deputy chief Ahmad Bashah Md Hanapiah, last week announced that they no longer had confidence in Mukhriz.
There is speculation that a new menteri besar will be installed this Sunday.
