Johor Umno accepts the attorney-general's decision regarding the probe on Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and hope it is respected by all quarters.
Johor Umno liaison chairperson Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the decision is the Johor Umno's stand on the party's leadership issue.
"Over the last several months, a lot of time, energy and attention has been devoted to clarifying the issue.
"We have to make a closure and move forward," he said at a special meeting between Johor Umno and Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at Persada Johor International Convention Centre, Johor Baru today.
Also present were Umno vice-president Hishammuddin Hussein,Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, and Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.
Mohamed Khaled, who is also Johor Menteri Besar, said Johor Umno supported efforts by the leadership to review the political funding system in Malaysia.
"There is a need for a transparent system in the collection of political funds, in line with the maturity of the party's democratic system."
On Jan 26, attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali cleared Najib of any criminal wrongdoing in relation to the probe on SRC International Sdn Bhd and RM2.6 billion deposited into his bank account.
Mohamed Apandi said the two probe papers were returned to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on the same day for closure.
