Keadilan leader N Gobalakrishnan said that he is fine despite losing about 8kg during his 52 days in detention under the Internal Security Act (ISA).

Asked about his detention, Gobalakrishnan replied: "All I can tell you now is that the ISA must be abolished.

"It is a useless law. I was arrested without knowing why," he lamented.

Gobalakrishnan was among 10 Keadilan leaders and reformasi activists detained under the ISA in a police crackdown launched on April 10.

On Wednesday, the Shah Alam High Court hearing the habeas corpus applicatons of Gobalakrishnan and another detained Keadilan leader, Abdul Ghani Haroon, ruled that they be released and also ordered the police not to re-arrest them for at least 24 hours.

At a press conference following his release, Gobalakrishnan had told reporters that he had been "badly treated" but declined to elaborate until the other detainees are released.

Meanwhile, Abdul Ghani's wife Roslija Syed when contacted said her husband was doing fine.

Following the unprecedented decision to release the duo by Justice Mohd Hishamudin Mohd Yunus, Inspector-General of Police Norian Mai has filed an application in the Federal Court to overturn the decision.

At about 2.30pm today, police released another ISA detainee Raja Petra Raja Kamaruddin, who is the webmaster of the Free Anwar Campaign (Freeanwar.com) website.

Those still under detention are Keadilan vice-president Tian Chua; party Youth leaders Mohd Ezam Mohd Nor; Lokman Noor Adam, Dr Badrul Amin Baharom and Saari Sungib, social activist-cum- malaysiakini columnist Hishamuddin Rais. and human rights activist Badaruddin Ismail.

In a related matter, a group of Keadilan members held prayers at Batu Caves today for the release of the other ISA detainees and jailed ex-deputy prime minister Anwar Ibrahim, who is serving a 15-year jail term for sodomy and abuse of power.

The group, led by Keadilan supreme council member Dr Xavier Jeyakumar, said that they are planning to carry out similar prayers in Penang, Pahang, Perak, Singapore and India.
