An online petition urging the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Conference of Rulers to reopen investigations against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has gained 30,000 signatures so far.

This was announced on the '1 Juta Desak Buka Kembali Siasatan Terhadap Najib Razak' (1 million call For Probe Against Najib To Be Re-opened) Facebook page today.

The petition, launched by Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli on Sunday, urges the Malay rulers to not only re-open the probe but also to appoint an independent prosecutor to head the investigations.

The petition comes two weeks after attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali absolved Najib of any wrongdoing and ordered the MACC to stop its investigations into the RM2.6 billion donation affair and SRC International case.

Rafizi wants the case to be revived following a comment by Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir that the RM2.6 billion was an 'investment' from a 'private individual' and not a royal donation.

Najib has denied any wrongdoing as well as allegations that he misused public funds.
