Don’t blame public for cynicism in SB’s visit to Sirul

YOURSAY | 'It is an indication of the lack of confidence they have in our government.'

SB may harm Sirul report absurd, says IGP

RM2.6 billion turkey haram: Inspector-general of police (IGP) Khalid Abu Bakar, it is not absurd. It is an indication of the lack of confidence they have in our government.

Too much negative news on cover-ups and protection for a certain leader are widely reported in Australia. Everywhere one goes, the usual topics on our chosen ones pop up. Not good ones, of course.

So can the government blame them for their suspicion of us?

Bulls**t Walks & Money Talks: The Australian government is not stupid. There is a possibility that someone may do something to former police commando Sirul Azhar Umar - remember dead men tell no tales. Hope the Australians will not allow Special Branch officers to visit him. Why are they visiting him when there is no reason for them to do so?

Anonymous_4031c: Sirul has milked and exploited the system accorded by the Aussies based on shared universal humanitarian values.

This guy is a murderer and is acting like a celebrity at the expense of the Australian taxpayers. He doesn't deserve the sympathy of the host country and has cunningly manoeuvred and played the system to the hilt.

Unknowingly, the Australian authorities have lent credence to his deceitfulness by allowing the facilities and liberties he would not have enjoyed even in his own country.

What's the difference between this convicted killer and an Islamic State (IS) terrorist finding refuge in Australia to escape retribution? Should Australia lay out the red carpet for the terrorist and give them the Sirul treatment, too? Both are killers, however way you cut the cloth.

Australia was able from a policy point of view to effectively manage the refugees swarming its shores. The action taken was not to abandon principles of humanitarian values but to have an effective dissuasive defensive mechanism to stem the tide of incursions, which many fleeing refugees soon caught on.

The entire European front is now facing a challenge which will destabilise the social, political and economic stability that they have built based on universal principles and values - all of which are anomalous in the countries where these refugees come from whose majority are Muslims.

These principles are being exploited and taken advantage of by the massive influx of refugees threatening the local culture, peace and stability that these Europeans enjoy.

Australia should not allow these values to be compromised and taken advantage of even if it's just one calculated killer.

Clongviews: Aussies are so liberal that their immigration authorities allow Sirul to make a series of video recordings to become a celebrity.

Gggg: So what could be the reason for Sirul to murder the Mongolian lady? Oh I forgot, motive is not necessary.

Report: Australia steps up security for Sirul amid safety concerns

Pat88: Seriously, who would want to kill Sirul Azhar Umar, if not the person who gave him the order to murder Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu and wants to make sure that he will never talk?

Most Malaysians wish him to live long enough to give us the name of the mastermind.

Aktan: These videos of Sirul are red herrings in the 1MDB context. Most probably, Sirul does not know who the real murderer is. Sirul is keeping himself alive, ‘well-fed’ and religiously poised for a pardon and donation. Good show but only God knows where the buck stops.

Lone_star: If the videos pre-dated Sirul's arrival in Australia, it could explain why he was allowed to slip out of Malaysia, unnoticed. Once again, he appears to be on a mission. A mission to exonerate someone this time around.

Mojo Jojo: The Australians are wasting time and resources on this fellow. As if he's gonna tell us all what the truth is.

7888888: A murderer's safety is at stake. Hmmmm.

Bumiputhran: Poor Sirul, the intended purposes of the video have misfired. The laser beam is now focused on truth and justice.

The fourth video naming the five "accused by Sirul to bring down Najib" will not be screened. I bet my last satu kupang. Reasons are obvious based on today’s news item in The Australian .

Sirul's men propose, Altantuya Shaariibuu’s spirit disposes.
