Companies in the country need to ensure the recruitment of foreign manpower is balanced with local workers to ensure Malaysians, especially youths have ample employment opportunities, said Malaysian Youth Council (MYC) president Mua'amar Ghadafi Jamal Jamaludin.

He said even though local industries needed the services of foreign workers, they should ensure employment opportunities in the country are not monopolised by the group.

"Employers should monitor if there is a balance between foreign and local workers," he said today.

He told this to reporters after delivering the MYC president's policy speech at the 65th MYC annual general assembly from Feb 19 to 21.

MYC, the national umbrella body for Malaysian youth organisations, has 38 affiliates.
