PAS No 2: Dump BN-Umno, go for a technocracy

Asitis: PAS has always been about theocracy and not technocracy. Only when they start to lose votes will they pretend to support technocracy.

Whenever they feel their position is even just a little strong, they will go back to theocracy. This is exactly what happened in PAS when they kicked out all the progressives in the last party elections.

He is the only leader in PAS who can see how useless and insignificant the Umno-BN coalition has become. His boss, Abdul Hadi Awang, seems to be an apple-polisher for Umno and has not demonstrated any real will to reform.

If PAS wants to be relevant in Malaysian politics, it has to get rid of Hadi first.

SSDhaliwal: Now that PAS knows it is doomed, it is singing a different tune. The only way PAS can be a real opposition partner again is to ditch Hadi, which is probably never going to happen.

Now that Umno is no longer in support of your hudud plans, you realised that besides hudud, you have no other important policies, hence you are now speaking up about matters that the opposition has been harping on.

6th Generation Immigrant: Tuan Ibrahim, we (Malaysians) were almost there before and after GE13, but your president's personal agenda, conceited thoughts, lack of consistency and loss of gentlemanly leadership qualities put a damper on our struggle to oust Umno-BN.

Your cries today are no different to the cries of the majority of Malaysians, even from Umno-BN, but people like you, saw it too late, this again is all because of Hadi's "dreams" of going out with a bang (now a failed explosion one would say).

Our immediate cry is for you to remove this stumbling block once and for all - Hadi. If you can achieve that at the party level, you can join others at the national level to help Malaysia be rid of Umno-BN.

Hibiscus: Indeed, the PAS brand has been tainted by Hadi. Whatever that is said in the name of PAS, no matter how brilliant or how relevant, is now viewed with suspicion.

Any mention of Hadi's name to any idea will be rejected by many because his name brings to memory his treachery and disregard of Pakatan Rakyat agreements.

LifeFlier: Tuan Ibrahim, if you love God and willing to listen to Him, please open your arms wide to the infidels and don't discriminate and hate them, respect their way of life, respect the constitution, share your Allah's view with them while they share their agnostic or atheistic views with you.

Oh Ya?: Is Tuan Ibrahim saying that there will neither be candidates nor constituencies but only political parties for future GE? And the political party that obtains the highest number of votes gets to form the government and nominate "the PM and below"?

So Abdul Wahid Omar, Idris Jala and even Paul Low can potentially become "the PM and below" without mandate?

Does it also mean that PAS is not eligible to nominate its own leaders for "the PM and below" as there are only ulama left in the party and the technocrats are now with Amanah?

How could the voters trust him or PAS which can't even articulate their ideas properly to save the country?

Ferdtan: Tuan Ibrahim, we agree with you but have you convinced your PAS members, especially your Umno-loving president Hadi?

There are many contradictory statements from you and other top PAS leaders. You seem to differ all the time with your party boss, so who is right? Are you expressing your personal opinion or is this the party stance?

We are confused about where PAS is going and its direction - to be with the opposition or to cooperate with Umno-BN on issues of common interest? Similarly, we are sure that its members are equally baffled with the party’s stand.

Headhunter: Tuan Ibrahim has more sense in him than Hadi. But talk is cheap. PAS have to walk their talk.

Something tells us that this is all political posturing. Let's hear what Hadi has to say. Don't hold your breath though.

GE14Now!: The trouble with you is that you have also lost credibility in the eyes of those who might have been open to the idea of a PAS being part of the opposition coalition.

The problem with so much of race- or religion-based politics in Malaysia is that you also will not see beyond your selfish interests to consider the needs of the country as a whole.

I would trust PAS as much as I would trust Najib and at this moment, the latter is in negative territory.
