The Community Policing Association of Sarawak (PKKS) Sibu Unit lodged a police report in Sibu this afternoon over a Facebook post on Tuesday insulting Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Sibu PKKS Unit head Thomas Ling Kui Eng claimed the individual's action was malicious and politically motivated to discredit Ahmad Zahid and the government.

“The PKKS Unit strongly opposes the contempt and disrespect shown against the Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi," said Ling, who was accompanied by nine members of the association in Sibu today.

Sibu police chief ACP Mohd Kamal Kordi confirmed receiving the PKKS report.

On Tuesday, a Facebook account in the name of Doris Jones had insulted Ahmad Zahid.

In Kuala Lumpur, 1Malaysia Umno division vice-chairpersons club urged police to carry out a detailed investigation and take stern action against Facebook account holder Doris Jones.

Its president Mohammad Anuar Mohd Yunus said they have also asked the authorities to check the citizenship status of the owner of the Facebook page.

"The authorities must check Doris Jones' citizenship to see whether she was still in the country or abroad. Revoke her citizenship so that it will be a lesson to others," he said.

Mohammad Anuar was accompanied by 25 members when speaking to reporters outside the Dang Wangi district police headquarters after lodging the report today.
