'MCA won't learn from hypocritical Guan Eng'
MCA today took Umno supreme council member Nazri Abdul Aziz to task for telling the party to learn from DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng on how to win back Chinese support.
Its publicity chairman, Chai Kim Sen, said MCA refuses to learn from the 'hypocritical' Lim to regain the support of the Chinese community .
Despite acknowledging the party was weak politically, he said that MCA would not abandon its principle by betraying the Chinese community, and would not regard Lim's 'autocratic and hypocritical' hegemony as 'dominant'.
He was responding to Umno supreme council member, Nazri Abdul Aziz, who told Malaysiakini that MCA needs a strong leader like Lim to lead the Chinese community.
Nazri, the tourism and culture minister, said the Chinese leader needs to be stronger than Lim if MCA wants to win back Chinese support.
“Nazri and some of the Umno leaders are indeed the best spokespersons for the DAP. Their actions and remarks only show that they are DAP's best campaigner," said Chai.
"Umno leaders who make (such) irresponsible remarks are not capable of maintaining (national) stability and racial harmony, which can only be brought about by wise politicians through negotiation and understanding," he added.
MCA failed to understand why Nazri admired the dominance of Lim, he continued, adding that the Umno minister was welcome to learn from Lim.
