We need to maintain peace, Wisma Putra tells US over TMI ban

Res Ipsa: You appear to have completely missed the point, Wisma Putra.

The events leading to the ban on The Malaysian Insider ( TMI ) was zeroed down to their reporting over the corruption and financial scandal of one man where there allegedly was sufficient proof to charge that person.

It has nothing to do with racial, cultural or religious issues. What are you then talking about peace, stability and harmony in our multiracial country?

The US Department of State would certainly be having a good laugh at our expense for making such general statements instead of addressing the elephant in the room.

By the way, since you are preaching about racial harmony, the public would like to know why no action was taken against a local daily that carried a highly seditious tagline "Apa lagi Cina mahu?"

Can the government please enlighten the reasons for their inaction?

Charging the PM is by no means a claim that he is certainly guilty. Charging him means that there is sufficient evidence that the PM is guilty of the charges.

However, in the courts Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) evidence will be heard, and the PM will be given opportunities to defend himself. The due course of the law will determine his innocence or guilt.

But for now, the PM is using a series of oppressive actions to deny the public their right to the evidence.

Even the 1MDB audit report has been classified under the Official Secrets Act (OSA). That is a certain admission of guilt in itself.

GE14Now!: Wisma Putra, why don't you just be honest and say that as long as the media says nice things about you and ‘bodek’ (apple polish) you to the heavens and say how wonderful you are, you would allow them to carry on.

The moment anyone reports anything to show how corrupt you are, you clamp down on them. That is the honest truth but this government is beginning to demonstrate that it has an exclusive franchise on lying.

Negarawan: The best thing the US government can do to save Malaysia is to expedite the investigations into 1MDB and bring the culprits to face the law.

We certainly would like to hear what US presidential candidate Donald Trump has to say about 1MDB and Najib, not forgetting his golf buddy.

Kirby, the members of the Outer Party respectfully request that you press on with your speaking softly but carrying a big stick, and should your word go unheeded, to not rap on the knuckles of the senior members of the Outer Party and of the Big Brother but to crack their thick skulls with your stick.

US concerned over restricted access to reporting in M'sia

I’m still waiting (but not holding my breath) for the day Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) says Najib is culpable and issues a warrant for his and his accomplices' arrest(s) in the US, and then acquire international warrant of arrest from Interpol.

This is being abused and used by the ‘ketuanan Melayu’ to justify the draconic racist policies in Malaysia. The policies and executions, to me, went beyond any reasonable tests in terms on upholding the concept of equality.

Anonymous #64627787: The concerns expressed by the US will fall on deaf ears. Americans will still work with the current status quo because there's money to be made in international business.

And Malaysian leaders will tell the US to nicely butt out of the country's administration.
