PARLIAMENT Red shirt rally organiser National Silat Association (Pesaka) has yet to pay its post-rally clean-up bill of RM38,214 despite its promise to settle it six months ago.

This was revealed by the Urban Well Being, Housing and Local Government Ministry in a parliamentary reply.

"The organisers of the Bersih and red shirt rallies have yet to pay the cleaning bills of RM64,955 and RM38,214.70 respectively," said the ministry.

As such, the ministry said, contractor Alam Flora Sdn Bhd had to proceed with action by issuing invoices to them on Sept 1, 2015.

Any follow up action will be taken by the contractor, it said.

Bersih had said it will not fork out a single sen to pay the cleaning bill.

Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan had said Bersih 4, which had organised a 34 hour rally on Aug 29 and 30 last year, must pay DBKL, which had to clean up after protesters.

Among other things, Rahman had accused protestors of urinating in the open. He also suggested that Bersih could settle the bill using the donations it had collected before the rally.

Bersih had collected more than RM2 million for the two-day protest, which it reportedly used for security and to set up portable toilets.

DBKL also had sent a bill to the organiser of red shirt rally , which was organised to counter the yellow shirts of the Bersih rally.
