PAS vice-president Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah has mocking designated Kelantan’s Salor assemblyperson, Husam Musa, as the right person to replace the party president.

Amar was quoted in Utusan Malaysia as also questioning why Husam did not contest for the post of party president in the last muktamar, since he is among those “qualified” to lead PAS.

“Why not Husam become president? Why didn’t he contest for the post? He should have contested for that post as he is the most qualified candidate among others to contest for the party presidency post,” Amar, who is also the Kelantan deputy menteri besar, said.

Amar was commenting on Husam’s assertion that Hadi should resign as party present and his deputy Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man take up the post as party president, while Hadi become the new party spiritual adviser (mursyidul am) or deputy spiritual adviser.

Husam said this happened when PAS president Yusof Rawa was appointed as spiritual adviser while the post of acting president was held by Fadzil Noor in 1989.

When asked if Husam had violated the party regulations when he was seen together with Parti Amanah Negara criticising the Kelantan state government, Amar had replied that it is up to the party’s disciplinary committee.

“We do not get involved in this, as all reports that are needed by Kelantan PAS had been sent. We have done our job and now we are awaiting the decision of the disciplinary committee,” he said.
