No ‘Save Malaysia’ deal on Najib’s replacement rankles
YOURSAY | 'One shouldn't get behind the wheel without a plan of where you’re going...'
No game plan yet on Najib’s replacement, says Kit Siang
The Analyser:
"These are situations that we have to deal with collectively as we move along," said DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang.
This is the idiotic way Malaysians think (or don't think) and it shows in the way they drive too. One shouldn't get behind the wheel without a plan of where you are going or the rules and regulations you should obey en route.
But this is just what ABU (Anything But Umno) and now this ridiculous Citizens' Declaration are doing.
These leaders are asking Malaysians to blindly follow a proven disaster and a proven failure into a future padded with feel-good pap.
Roguekiller: The Analyser, do you count the chicks before they are hatched? How stupid can you be, wanting to name a replacement when the group has just taken its first few steps?
Don't you think it is premature? That is called strategy.
Slumdog: Yes, The Analyser, Umno-BN has a game plan.
Their game plan is to plunder the Treasury and silence the rakyat, the opposition and civil activists with as many draconian pieces of legislation they can dream up when embarrassing questions are asked of PM Najib Razak's involvement in numerous scandals.
Malaysia Land of Milk and Honey: Roguekiller, a plan is not a plan unless it is complete with all mechanisms in place.
The 'Save Malaysia' group is on a ‘syiok sendiri’ mission - they think they have Umno leaders on board, but these are sacked or suspended leaders.
The new Pakatan Harapan is also made up of sacked leaders and a bunch of misfits, and you think these are chicks not hatched yet. These are cockerels who cannot lay eggs, and old men at that.
Why don't you give us a chronology of how events would play out so that the rakyat would know the "plan"?
Malaysians or the rakyat are being asked to play a supporting role and they will be collateral damage if things get nasty.
Oh Ya?: Suppose the Umno rebels manage to get rid of Najib and install their leader as the next PM - Kangkung Land would continue to be ruled by the racist, corrupt and rotten Umno.
How could Lim expect this party to transform, reform and save Kangkung Land, when it has so much blood on its hands?
DAP would not even be allowed to be part of the "unity government" that Lim has been dreaming of all this while. He can't be pawning the people's future just like that.
Over50abu: Yes, with due respect, you don't go on a roadshow without a game plan.
Why should we trust a dictator who has a track record of lying and is unable to select the correct prime minister successors and deputies?
Najib's Clowns: After 'Save Malaysia', the obvious next move is to strive for New Malaysia. The goal to remove the allegedly corrupt Najib is top on the priority list.
But Najib’s replacement will be a challenge to the Malay mindset. Are they prepared to open their minds and let a true Malaysian take the top job, regardless of race, creed or political affiliation?
This change of attitude will show the maturity of Malaysians, in particular the Malays, and would mark the coming of age of a nation.
Ibrahim Ali reveals reason for not inking declaration
Ferdtan: Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali claimed that he did not sign the declaration because he arrived late. I had told this story in Malaysiakini's forum before, and it is worth repeating.
Many years ago when a group of us executives were not happy with the salary increments as the cost of living then was high, we had a secret meeting among ourselves and decided to write a letter of appeal to the CEO.
We knew the CEO would not be happy as this would be construed as an informal union grouping.
So when the CEO invited all the signatories of the petition for a meeting, guess who was the last to enter the boss’s room? Yes, the one whom in the meeting who was most vociferous among us in his demands.
Before all of us entered the room for the meeting, he went to the toilet first (obviously deliberately to delay making the entrance) and then walked in nonchalantly later as if he was not involved.
So did Ibrahim go for that same strategic leak?
Kawak: Ibrahim Ali said he did not sign the declaration because he wanted to safeguard Perkasa's name.
One, what is there to safeguard in the good name of Perkasa which is a racist NGO? Second, is he eyeing to contest in the next general election?
Hopefully with his abstention, the PM will allow him to contest again.
Baiyuensheng: Ibrahim Ali said Perkasa has championed these issues for a long time? Since when?
You created disunity among the races in Malaysia and angered Sarawak and Sabah so much that they now are awakened to ‘ketuanan Melayu’ policies and are vigorously championing self-determination.
Allah works in mysterious ways.
