MH370 A South African teenager has found a piece of debris that could possibly be a part of missing Malaysia Airlines plane MH370, reported Reuters.

According to the news agency, Liam Lotter, 18, had told South Africa's East Coast radio that he found the piece of debris on a beach in Mozambique while on holiday in December and his family took it back to their home in South Africa.

He said that after a suspected part of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 was found in Mozambique last week, his family made the connection with his find, reported Reuters.

The news agency reported that the white, metre-long chunk of metal was being tested by officials in Australia, with help from Malaysian authorities and representatives of manufacturer Boeing Co.

South African authorities planned to hand over the debris found by Lotter to the same Australian team.

The Malaysia Airline's Boeing 777 vanished from the radar screens two years ago on March 8, 2014, with 239 people on board.

So far, the only piece of debris from MH370 recovered is a fragment of a wing that washed up on a beach on Reunion Island in July last year.
