Petition to have Najib's alma mater portrait removed breaks 2,000

Roguekiller: Even Malaysian youths in the United Kingdom are not satisfied with Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's explanation on the RM2.6 billion, which was planted in his personal bank accounts.

These learned youngsters have realised that the premier is fooling them, and they are no fools to be deceived easily.

Thus, they have drummed up the courage to roll out a petition to garner support to remove Najib’s portrait from the walls of their campuses.

Najib, as usual, will show us his sly smile in response to this, but inwardly he should feel being hit hard - perhaps akin to shaving off his eyebrows, even.

It is better to come clean now, Najib, as slowly and steadily there will be more citizens joining the campaign to get rid of you.

Negarawan: He has brought not only shame to his alma mater, but to his family, political party, government, and country.

Of course in Malaysia, it has to be also mentioned that he brought shame to the Malay race and Islam, too.

He has cast a black mark on the country's history. It is not only his photos that should be removed from all walls of the University of Nottingham, but his very name as well.

Perhaps, an exception could be made for his photo to be put up somewhere in the Hall of Shame.

Dahjadi Bubur: I have just signed the petition, but I also just realised that the University of Nottingham has a branch campus here in Malaysia itself.

As such, I think this university's board has likely been enmeshed in this failed state's shameful matrix and commercial corrupt practices.

That may explain why the premier's portrait was placed on the wall in the first place; but what was the board's reason for this “honour” bestowed?

Anonymous 2325191438313157: Najib, it is so obvious that 99 percent of Malaysians despise you and your wife. The remaining one percent of Umno honchos will forget you the instant we get a new PM.

DPM Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali, inspector-general of police (IGP) Khalid Abu Bakar, etc, will be buttering up the new PM the moment your flight takes off from KLIA.

Leonie: The ball is now in the governing council's court: Ethical standards (stemming from the conduct of one of your prominent alumni) and academic standards go hand in hand.

This is a make or break case for Nottingham University.

Burning Patriot: The portraits are those of famous people that attended the university, and for them to remove one must require extreme circumstances.

Najib is neither a convicted felon nor a deposed PM, he is still PM, and 2,250 signatures are not enough. It’s laughable.

Mytake: All they wanted is for him to properly explain the RM2.6 billion that went into his personal account. And that's a reasonable request.
