Why should Najib get corporate credit cards?

YOURSAY | ‘With his PM's salary, how can he and his wife live so lavishly?’

Azalina: PM doesn't get income from companies

Odin Tajué: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Azalina Othman Said, what is ‘income'? Income is money received, especially regularly, for work or as returns derived from investments.

Obviously, PM Najib Razak does not work for any company in the usual sense ‘to work for a company' means, and, therefore, he does not receive any income for working for any company.

Whether he does receive any income that is money received as returns derived from investments is best left to conjecture. You are absolutely in no position to confirm that he does not.

Does he or does he not receive any benefits in the form of corporate credit cards?

The Sarawak Report has exposed the celebrated chart that attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali waved when he cleared Najib showing the trail of money from SRC International to several destinations, some dubious.

Among these destinations was an account held by Najib and that some of the money in that account was used to pay MasterCard and Visa.

The fact that Sarawak Report has until now not been sued for defamation proves beyond any reasonable doubt that its exposé is based on facts.

Hafidz Baharom: So let's review what is being said altogether. RM2.6 billion was donated to the PM's account, but not for "personal gain". RM2.03 billion of it was returned to the donor, and RM1.5 billion was spent in the last general election by Barisan Nasional.

At the same time, the prime minister had two credit cards paid by SRC International, but the PM “never received any income from private companies” even when they allegedly paid for his expenses via credit cards.

Tell you what. If confusing people is a basis to block news portals and even stop "pork free" signboards, maybe the entire cabinet should be barred from talking at all.

Ericlcc: But why would Najib want additional incomes from companies? As it is, he already has the largest personal bank deposit account to last him multiple lifetimes.

Apapunboleh: Of course, the PM doesn't need an income when these companies were footing his bills.

Furthermore, these companies were generously donating to his private account without his knowledge.

No More: The opposition will never be satisfied with the explanation given by the government. It will always find fault to blame the government and Najib.

Anonymous_1371705241: I have realised there's an increasing number of cybertroopers spamming the comment section of Malaysiakini news that are bad for the government (which practically is every news related to the government).

It is fine. We respect your freedom of expression while I hope you respect mine too.

So my words to you all are you are a disgraceful bunch of despicable pathetic lackeys stuck in your own little world. So gullible so easily swayed and brainwashed. Absolutely disgusting!

RM2.6 Billion Turkey Haram: Najib can even forgo his salary. With RM2.6 billion plus RM42 million safe in the banks, ‘apa lagi mau’ (what more does he want)?

When I was in Singapore a few months ago, the people there complained that their PM was highly paid.

But when told that Lee Hsien Long's pay pale into comparison with Najib's billions, they realised how blessed Singapore is - no resources, yet its living standard way above ours.

Pahatian: You must be very naïve, Azalina. With his PM's salary, can he and his wife live so lavishly? You must be kidding.

Moreover, he has more than RM2.6 billion in his account. So does he really need those peanuts from the corporate companies?

He leaves it to apple polishers like you to defend him, and to spin and lie to cover his alleged wrongdoings.

Roar For Truth: The lifestyle of the PM and most cabinet ministers is apparently beyond their pay grade. The question is whether their supplementary incomes are legal or illegal.

Without an independent Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to keep them in check, they spend lavishly whilst giving advice like saints to the masses.

Fairnsquare: Okay, Azalina, fair enough. Now explain the RM3.2 million credit card expenses revealed in the flow chart displayed by the AG.

Please convince us as we also would like to see the PM cleared so that we can move on. Explain it all and convince us. Also remember, we are not fools.

Anonymous 1545651439185163: Indeed, can Azlina explain how her boss can spend RM3.3 million in a month without having additional income?
