Azalina hogs headlines

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Azalina Othman Said refused , for the second consecutive day, to accept questions on the RM2.6 billion scandal in Parliament but Dewan Rakyat Pandikar Amin Mulia only found out about it yesterday, and insisted only he can make such a ruling.

Still in the news, Azalina cited " space, security and keeping reports focused " in response to questions over why the online media keeps getting kicked out of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's events, but said there's no ban.

She also told Parliament that cutting 744 overseas scholarships would save the government RM240 million a year.

AG under spotlight

Opposition Leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said she will appeal Pandikar's rejection of her no-confidence motion against attorney-general (AG) Mohamed Apandi Ali.

Meanwhile, the Judicial and Legal Service Officers' Association is calling an extraordinary-general meeting (EGM) to reject the Malaysian Bar's motion at its own AGM to discuss Apandi's removal for not prosecuting the prime minister.
