Sand thieves who are unhappy with enforcement action against their activities, could be responsible for throwing three Molotov cocktails at a Hulu Langat assistant district officer yesterday morning.

Hulu Langat District Officer Zulkifli Khalid said the incident involving his officer in Section 14, Bandar Baru Bangi, was an ordeal that they would have to face when performing such duties.

"This is the first time my officer experienced such an incident and maybe it is connected to his duty. I hope the incident will not be repeated and hope the authorities will be more concerned in tackling the matter," Zulkifli said when contacted last night.

Meanwhile, the victim, who declined to be named, said it was not the first time he had received threats from parties unhappy with his action to eradicate illegal sand mining and illegal buildings on government land.
