Pelaburan Mara Berhad (PMB) chief executive officer Ahmad Nazim Abdul Rahman today lodged a police report against the National Oversight & Whistleblowers Centre (NOW) and its founding executive director Rafizi Ramli.

Ahmad Nazim took issue with the NOW's expose over Mara Inc's overpriced purchase of the Dudley House student hostel in Melbourne, Australia, at A$22.5 million (RM66.7 million), which also implicated him as a beneficiary.

Rafizi had claimed that Mara had overpaid by A$4.75 million (RM14 million) and the money flowed to three companies, citing court documents filed in Australia.

The PKR leader had also claimed the court documents named Ahmad Nazim.

"As PMB chief executive officer, I do not have any connection (to the deal), directly or indirectly, as PMB and Mara Inc are two separate companies.

"PMB does not have any power over the decisions made by Mara Inc and its purchase of the real estate," Ahmad Nazim said after lodging a police report at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters today.

Ahmad Nazim also dismissed claims that he was personally involved in certain property companies and that there was conflict of interest.

"I stress that I do not have any interest at all.

"I do not own nor am I a director in any of the companies named by Rafizi.

"Therefore I do not have a conflict of interest in the deal in my capacity as PMB chief executive officer," he said.

Ahmad Nazim said he is also consulting his lawyers to file a civil suit against Rafizi over the allegations.
