The Education Ministry has ordered the closure of all schools in Kedah and Perlis starting tomorrow.

In a brief message on Facebook, Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid said this is due to the hot weather.

"Teachers must attend. No need for replacement. An official statement will be issued," read his statement.

Kedah and Perlis are among several states to record a spike in temperature, triggering concerns regarding the health of students.
