PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang today reminded PAS members to stay away from the group behind the Citizens’ Declaration saying leadership change in the country must be done in a positive manner to avoid chaos.
"Change must be done democratically and there should be no racial tensions and that his why we (PAS) control out youth members.
"We also do not want outside interference and should be very careful in all our dealings," he told reporters after a party function in Kampung Batu 20, Batu Kurau.
Asked whether PAS would be facing difficulties in the next general election because PAS members were leaving to join Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), Hadi said it would not be the case as only less than one percent (of its members) had joined the splinter party.
Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who quit Umno recently, teamed up with opposition figures and civil society leaders in coming up with the Citizens’ Declaration in trying to oust Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
