Two people died and three others were injured today after inhaling what is believed to be poisonous gas on a vessel at the Sabah port in Sepanggar, 28km from Kota Kinabalu, according to the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department.

Its public relations officer, Mohd Affendy K Ramin, said the three injured people had been rushed to the Likas Hospital.

He said the identities of the five had yet to be established.

Mohd Affendy said the department was notified of the incident at 8.18am.
