The Year Two schoolboy who cut his tongue on March 24 was not bullied into doing it, said Selangor Police Chief Abdul Samah Mat.

He said police investigations into the case found that the boy cut his own tongue as he was playing with a sharp object he borrowed from his classmate.

"The incident happened in class, at that time there were 34 pupils and a female teacher, and he was not forced by five masked pupils in the toilet as he claimed.

"Immediately after it happened, the pupil was sent to the hospital and reported the matter to his parents," he told reporters after a pinning-of-ranks ceremony from corporal to sergeant in Shah Alam today.

Abdul Samah said in the investigations conducted from March 25 until yesterday, there were no solid evidence to support the victim's story.

He said the full report had been submitted to the deputy public prosecutor and police had been informed that no further action would be taken as there was no criminal element in the incident.

"The written report of the findings will also be submitted to the state education department as soon as possible for further action," he said.

Last Thursday, Muhammad Alif Shukran Alias, eight, claimed he was forced by a group of five Year Three boys from his school to cut his own tongue.

Following the incident, part of his tongue was cut at the edge and had to be stitched up.
