S'gor gov't flays Shah Alam council for shoddy stadium care

Selangor team manager Amirudin Shari took to task the management of the Shah Alam Stadium which comes under the Shah Alam City Council for failing to complete repair work on time.

Amirudin, who is also the Selangor state executive councillor in charge of sports, said this should not have happened because the repair work had started at the end of December last year.

"Taking into consideration the risk of injury to players, the FA of Selangor had to accede to the decision by Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) to shift the Selangor-Kedah Super League match on Tuesday to the Selayang Stadium," he said in a statement today.

FMLLP in a statement yesterday had said the match had to be moved to the Selayang Stadium because the surface of the pitch was not ready for it.

FMLLP is the private company appointed to manage the Malaysian League this season.

Amirudin added that season pass holders could still use them for Tuesday's match and that he had asked Darul Ehsan Facilities Management and FAS to facilitate them.
