BN strategic communications director Abdul Rahman Dahlan today criticised Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for using outdated Companies Commission of Malaysia's (CCM) documents to rebut the former's claim that the shares of Kuala Lumpur International Dental Centre Sdn Bhd (KLIDC) had been sold.

The alleged sale, said to be at RM18.6 million, is significant as KLIDC had bought the Taman Manggis land from the Penang government for RM11.6 million in 2012.

Lim had furnished the CCM documents yesterday to rebut Abdul Rahman's claim, pointing out that the owners of KLIDC remained unchanged.

However, Abdul Rahman said he was puzzled that Lim didn't know about CCM's procedures as any transfer of shares is not immediately updated in the system.

"I would like to remind him that it is not the case where the shares change hands today, CCM's system would be updated tomorrow," he told a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.

Abdul Rahman added that Lim also should not be addressing the issue if his state government is unaware of the sale of the shares.

"The fact is, the agreement have been signed and stamped. For me, it is up to the Penang government to rebut or to make a statement that such an agreement do not exist," he said.

Abdul Rahman said it was not up to him to explain whether the RM70 million in the agreements had been paid.

Yesterday, Rahman claimed that the Taman Manggis land was indirectly sold through the sale of KLIDC to another company for RM18.6 million.

The shares of KLIDC were initially majority-owned by Tang Yong Chew but the buyer's name was not disclosed.

He claimed the Victoria International Medical Centre Sdn Bhd – also owned by Tang – which had signed a joint venture with KLIDC to develop the land, was also sold to the same buyer at RM52 million.

Lim today said he had no knowledge about the agreements and will take action if KLIDC, which controls the Taman Manggis land, is sold behind the Penang government's back.

He also stressed that the most definitive document to determine whether the shares had been sold was still the CCM records and the land title.

Furthermore, Lim also urged Abdul Rahman to disclose the name of the buyer so that the person can immediately clarify if full payment had been made and the agreement finalised.
