Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is prepared to debate with BN strategic communications director Abdul Rahman Dahlan over the Taman Manggis land issue.

Stressing that he has no qualms with a public debate, he also hopes that it would be televised live.

"I am willing to debate him despite him having information that I don’t. But I am prepared, based on the latest information that I have.

"If you want (the debate to be aired on) TV3 it's better ; TV3 is hammering me every night," he told reporters in the parliament lobby today.

Lim said that the date, location and time for the debate will be decided by DAP chief whip Anthony Loke

Meanwhile commenting on Rahman's allegations that he is unfamiliar with Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) procedures, Lim repeated his analogy of the sale of a car, arguing that the title of the land and the CCM company records are the definitive authority to prove any transaction.

"If you buy a car and pay RM30,000, will you pay without a transfer of ownership? If you do not transfer, it is not yours.

"Same with the owners of KLIDC (Kuala Lumpur International Dental Centre Sdn Bhd), who still owns the shares.

"Why would they pay RM70.6 million and not have the title to the shares updated as fast as possible. This is not RM70,000, this is RM70 million. It is not a small amount," he said.

Rahman and Lim have been sparring in the media over the alleged sale of KLIDC, which has bought state land in Taman Manggis. The minister alleged that the company has changed hands while the CM argued that this was not true.
