Mohamed Khaled Nordin today said he would continue focusing on his tasks as Johor menteri besar and did not know whether it was true there was a move to remove him from the post.

He said he left it the people to talk on the alleged move and declined to comment further on this.

“I cannot answer anything on this because firstly, I don’t know whether it is true or not, and secondly, if there is such a plan, you have to ask that person concerned.

“What I know is to focus on my job. Other than that, there are others who give their support (to me),” he said to reporters after opening the international conference on ‘The Belt and Road Initiative: China-Asean Relations’ in Johor Baru today.

Mohamed Khaled who is also Permas assemblyperson, was asked to comment on claims of a move, led by a deputy minister from the state, to replace him as menteri besar.

Meanwhile, Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai, who also attended the opening of the conference, said the party had always given its strong support to Mohamed Khaled for his capability in helming Johor.

Liow, who is also MCA president, said Mohamed Khaled’s good leadership was proven by the robust economic growth in the state.

“He (Mohamed Khaled) has shown his leadership mettle and I think he is well loved by the people in Johor,” Liow said.
