'Moves to discredit PM haven't affected foreign investment'
The actions by a small group of foreign media to discredit the country and the leadership under Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak have not affected the foreign investor confidence to invest in the country.
International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed said despite their actions, the investor confidence still remained high because of the country's political stability.
"The foreign companies continue to express interest and we continue to attract quality investments despite the 'noises' by international media," he told reporters after jointly chaired the Industry Coordination Committee meeting with Menteri Besar Mohamed Khaled Nordin in Johor Baru today.
Earlier, Mustapa witnessed the announcement and pledge of commitment by four local and foreign companies to invest RM1.87 billion in the Kompleks Perindustrian Tanjung Langsat (TLIC) zone.
"The ceremony today showed that the investor interest in Malaysia is still high even though we also face global economic uncertainty," he said.
