Selling our rights for money, look who’s talking

YOURSAY | ‘Can you believe Najib telling others not to sell their rights for money?’

Voters must not sell their rights for money, says Najib

FellowMalaysian: On the one hand, PM Najib Razak and his merrymen traverse the state of Sarawak dishing out millions of cash and contributions to the schools, community and religious halls and centres and promised many more billions of government funds to build new highways and infrastructure.

And on the other, it is the same Najib in person who tells our brethren out there that they should not be in any way influenced by monetary gains or be enticed with rewards when they vote.

This makes Najib's statements rather hollow. Sarawakians are wise enough not to be bamboozled by the empty promises of someone who carries a heavy baggage and has many skeletons in his closet.

Pahatian: Now look who is talking about not to ‘sell’ their rights for money? What a great hypocrite he is! It’s real silly of PM to make such statements which actually backfired on him.

Do the Sarawakans need such a person to lead the nation and to lord over Sarawak through his proxy, Adenan Satem? A vote for BN is a vote for Umno.

RM2.6 Billion Turkey Haram: Can you believe Najib telling others not to sell their rights for money?

Do not sell your right for a fistful of dollars, but when the price is RM2.6 billion, by all means do it. This is his principles.

Najib, your advice has the country laughing at you, not for your wisdom but for your sheer stupidity. Till now, you are still not aware that your advice on virtues is empty, and no one would ever listen.

Reason: your credibility is absolutely zero. Your integrity, nil. Your honesty, naught. I pity you for being so naive or thick-skinned.

How Siow: Don’t blame him, he is not known for his intelligence. He has been a politician all his life and that too given on a platter.

I bet his wife does not allow him to read anything she does not approve. This is why he is still living in her dream world and he is not aware how he is loathed. He honestly believes the lies his PR team is dishing out.

Imagine, never in history has a PM invite so many scandals. Perhaps he knows a little and this is why in Sarawak he is only campaigning in the interiors, and not in towns.

Anonymous 7281: So what happen to your RM2.6 billion "donation", which was allegedly meant to buy votes?

Anonymous 1890491455255851: This coming from someone who has been going around buying people's votes and doing so unashamedly.

And the same someone who is at the centre of possibly the biggest financial scandal involving government funds ever?

Roar For Truth: Indeed, this must be the joke of the day. Which opposition candidate has millions to pay voters not to vote for BN? Our politicians are amazing with their doublespeak.

Justice: RM200,000 approved and announced by Najib on the spot while giving his campaign speech in support of SUPP BN candidate in the Simanggang state seat.

Hello, Election Commission, this is clearly an election bribery. Yet Najib has no shame telling people not to sell their rights for money in the same speech.

What kind of a leader is this? No wonder, BN does not dare to put up Najib’s posters in Sarawak towns.

CQ Muar: Sure, with the billions in 'donation' from rich Saudi Arabs, money is at your disposal to do anything you want.

After all, that's precisely what you'd allegedly done in the last general election, so why not now, right?

Besides, money politics is now the name of the game and no longer seen as an offence. You made the law, you are exempted from it, now that cash is king.

Ckl0001: When I read this, I almost vomited out my lunch food.

The Mask: Somebody, please help me to understand this man. He asked voters not sell their rights for money.

What then has he and the Barisan candidates been doing? Blatantly and in open daylight, bribing the voters to vote for the BN candidates with development projects, salary increase, and all kinds of goodies.

Does he know that his left hand does not know what his right hand is doing? Is he autistic?

Mojo Jojo: Speech of piety this one gives, mind of doubloons that he is.

Vilify righteous they be strong,

let's see how long they'll go on.

What goes up must come down,

we can't wait to see you frown.
