The struggle I fought so hard for, and lost

Fairplayer: Thank you for sharing, former PKR candidate for Tarat Musa Ngog. You have done well. The total breakthrough will come once your people are properly educated, and set free in their spirits.

Organise a ‘thank-you’ dinner in the village that rejected you. Make connections. Have regular interactions with them. They need sound teaching. Do it with simple tea gatherings with the help of your supporters among them, who really care.

With time, these oppressed poor souls will open up. Above all, lift them to the good Lord in prayer on a regular basis, and pray God's grace and mercy come upon them and that the Love of God permeates into their bound lives and souls and set them free to choose their rightful destiny without the grease of tempting ‘sweets’ and cash. March on. Be strong and very courageous. May God grant you His protection and be with you.

Please tell them our country does not belong to BN. Sarawak belongs to Sarawakians. Malaysia belongs to Malaysians. BN and Pakatan and all other parties are like football teams that registered and agreed to compete according to rules. The Election Commission (EC) is the umpire.

Unfortunately, the EC is allegedly corrupted by the Umno-led BN. Teach them by drawing them to simple daily happenings that appeal to their levels, and then drive home the truth.

MA: Brother Musa Ngog; remember you are not alone. The Advocate will guide you if you keep true to yourself. The battle is not lost; trust in yourselves and we may see a brighter future. You are the Light that is shining in the darkness.

Straight-talk: Here is one brave young candidate willing to sacrifice to undo all the damage from ‘deep pockets’ BN, which has the resources to bribe voters who were shortsighted and demanding. They will learn the hard way when BN throws them peanuts and continues to allegedly rob the nation to fill their pockets. Sad, really sad.

Existential Turd: Dear Musa Ngog, I salute you for your commitment and bravery. I hope you will never waver from the principle you set out to uphold. Fighting for justice and fairness is an uphill task in Malaysia. Your bravery is all the more precious.

I don't believe Sarawakians are stupid, they are just poor. Poverty is like a noose that makes them prioritise short-term gain over long-term development. Poverty, like nationalism and religion, is a powerful lever for controlling the people. Over the years, BN has kept them poor and only dangles a few sweets during elections. Most of their promises have gone unfulfilled.

The government asks for votes here and now, but their promises are far into the future and unspecified. They give out a few tens of ringgit during elections, but they get back thousands of times that amount in between elections. It is a long struggle. We need more people like you.

Dont just talk: By the time when the rich and famous politicians finish pillaging Sarawak's resources, the voters who asked for RM30 or the tequila voter who wanted a bottle to secure his vote or the villagers too scared to say 'No' to corruption, will pay dearly for their ignorance.

The victors proudly claimed that the Blue Waves have swept Sarawak but all these will come with a heavy price for the future generations of Sarawakians, who will ask their fathers and mothers where they were when these corrupt politicians pillaged and bankrupted Sarawak.

Musa Ngog, you can stand tall and proudly say, I stood alone against them but it was just a lone voice in the Sarawak Wilderness.

Just a Malaysian: I still believe Malaysia will need to crash before we can recover. The complacency is real deep and is a cancer that can only be removed by chemotherapy of the worst kind.

Justice: Brother Musa, continue on with your struggle for justice and righteousness. God will act in His own mysterious way and at the time of His choosing. That was your first battle and learn from it, your weaknesses, your strengths, your people’s mindset, who your enemies are, their strategies in enslaving, manipulating and cheating your people.

From all that, now devise your own counter-strategies to uplift the political awareness of your people, how to build self-confidence in them and how to make them self-reliant and even self-sufficient in the basic needs.

Also, prepare them mentally for the dirty, evil and wicked tricks of the BN, especially the use of money to buy their votes, threats of depriving them of development projects, welfare assistance, physical intimidation, etc.

Organise and keep strengthening your grassroots networks in all the villages, work with NGOs that can assist your people in their needs and to resolve their problems. Keep working and preparing for the next battle in 2021.

FellowMalaysian: Musa Ngog, you are a brave contender in the recent Sarawak state election. It is young people like you who care enough to speak out on the harsh and intimidating encounters during your campaign as the opposition into the longhouses, where some of the residents are your own relatives.

Strange it might seem to be, in this day and age, but there are still those who resort to such vulgar and crude tactics using physical threats, punches and blows as their 'weaponry'. I urge Pakatan Harapan to assess such incidents and make a formal report to the authorities and the police.

Sanjayd.v: Don’t be disappointed - the principle that you hold so dearly is what really needs to be established in Malaysia. As the saying goes, “We need courage to change the things we can, the strength to accept the ones we can’t and the wisdom to know the difference”. But that should not stop us from trying with all our heart to bring justice and fairness to all. Eventually, change will come for the betterment of all.

Lie Detector: Dear Musa, getting 3,024 votes is a fantastic achievement. Remember that as God's precious child He never leaves you or forsakes you and all things work together for good to those who love God. Thank you for being obedient to His calling to be a candidate.

We walk by faith, not by sight. If God is for you, who dares be against you? Lift up your head high and be glad and joyful as God knows the end from the beginning and you are in his perfect will. Rest for a while and prepare for the next round. He has put your enemies under His footstool.

PK: You took up the challenge to serve. To serve is giving from the heart. Eventually, those you serve will feel your truth as they, too, have hearts to feel. Persevere. Right now, no need to hold any position. Just serve. Your service will be seen. You will be blessed with more than you ever know. Politics in this country may be filled with greed and arrogance; not you.
