The police have detained a drug addict in connection with the seizure of three pump-action shotguns during a raid at a house in Bandar Seri Jempol in Seremban yesterday.

An assortment of ammunition, two packets of heroin weighing 12.5g, a packet of syabu weighing 0.8g and a packet of syabu tubes were also found at the house in Felda Lui Timur, Sungai Lui.

Jempol police chief Noorzainy Mood Noor said the 31-year-old suspect, who was picked up outside the house was facilitating investigations into the seizure of the guns and drugs.

He said the guns were found in a sack on the floor at the porch of the house.

"We are trying to determine the link between the suspect and the three guns," he said when contacted by Bernama today.

Noorzainy said the man tested positive for opiate drugs and had four previous drug-related records and another under Section 8 of the Firearms Act.

He said the suspect was remanded for a week.
