The Kelantan Education Department will investigate the actions of a teacher who had purportedly ridiculed the mentality of Sarawak voters.

Its director, Ab Aziz Abdullah, expressed his regret over the incident, stating that an educator should not have been involved in such narrow-minded thinking.

“We will conduct a thorough investigation. It’s not nice for a person to ridicule others. Doing so will affect one’s image as an educator.

“We hope there will be no such cases after this. One should be careful in using the social media because your intention might be different, but it could be misinterpreted,” he said.

Ab Aziz was quoted as saying so by Malay daily Sinar Harian at the Pasir Mas district education office today.

The teacher in question had purportedly ridiculed the mentality of Sarawak voters after the BN won the state election.

The teacher’s social media post had received various reactions, including criticisms from netizens.

In the Sarawak state election which concluded last Saturday, BN won 72 out of the 82 constituencies it contested in.

BN’s big win received congratulatory messages from its supporters but it had also garnered various negative responses from social media users, some of whom described the Sarawak voters as ‘stupid’.
