After PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said her deputy Azmin Ali’s invitation for all opposition parties to close ranks was merely a personal one, pro-Umno blog MyKMU.net has suggested that the menteri besar leaves PKR.

In a post today, the portal said Wan Azizah seemed to have snubbed her deputy and therefore Azmin’s political future seemed "dim" if the matter persisted.

“Anyway, if (former opposition leader) Anwar (Ibrahim) were to choose, obviously he would choose to be on his wife’s side.

“Therefore, Azmin should consider leaving PKR and joining PAS. He has been indebted to PAS many times, anyway.

“If it wasn’t for PAS, Azmin could only continue dreaming about warming the menteri besar’s seat.”

The blog writer further pointed out how the expulsion of former PAS vice-president Husam Musa (photo) from the party has made Azmin more "valuable".

“I think Azmin can replace Husam. PAS had lost many professionals, together with (former PAS deputy president) Mohamad Sabu.”

Azmin, the writer continued, should take a leaf from what that had occurred to his predecessor Khalid Ibrahim.

“Even though he (Khalid) was in Wan Azizah’s camp, he still had to be ‘sacrificed’. Does Azmin want the same thing to happen to him?”

'Think carefully, Azmin'

Azmin, added MyKMU.net, must also face Anwar and Wan Azizah’s daughter, PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar.

Therefore, it questioned whether Azmin’s career would flourish if he remained with such a dynasty.

“I think he won’t be able to go anywhere if he continues hoping and hoping. So Azmin, think carefully…”

Following Pakatan Harapan's devastating loss in last Saturday’s Sarawak state election, Azmin had said that all opposition parties should close ranks against BN to face the next 14th general election.

Responding to Azmin, PAS vice-president Nik Mohamad Amar Nik Abdullah invited PKR to work together with the party and its new ally, Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia.

Wan Azizah denied that this was an olive branch from PAS and pointed out that it was just a reaction to Azmin’s invitation.
