Jelebu MP Zainudin Ismail is in a stable condition after undergoing brain surgery at Kuala Lumpur Hospital this afternoon.

Zainuddin had fallen unconscious at his house in Kuala Klawang, Negeri Sembilan, this morning and was subsequently rushed to KLH.

Bernama quoted Jelebu Umno chief Jalaluddin Alias as saying that the doctors informed him that the four-hour long surgery was carried out smoothly and safely.

This was carried out after a CT scan indicated that there was a tumour in the brain.

Zainuddin is being observed by the medical staff and Jalaluddin said he believed the MP would recover smoothly, adding that he was praying for his speedy recovery.

Jalaluddin noted that Zainuddin had not been looking well lately, but had chalked it down to stress from being an MP.

Zainudin, a first-term parliamentarian, succeeded in the seat once occupied by former federal minister Rais Yatim.

He won against PAS candidate Raj Munni Sabu (Aiman Athirah Al-Jundi) with a 7,101-vote majority.
