Salleh, the world and M’sia are proud of Zunar
YOURSAY | ‘Salleh knows more about talking than about what he is talking about.’
Zunar's criticisms of PM embarrass the country, says Salleh
Anonymous_1408265047: The whole idea of Zulkiflee Anwar Ulhaque or Zunar embarrassing Malaysia just goes to show what a warped and twisted mind Minister Salleh Said Keruak has.
The world and Malaysia are proud of Zunar. He is a person to be admired for his very telling cartoons and books. He is a person of great talent. It is the subject of his books that is embarrassing Malaysia.
The sickening thing about Malaysia and what turns investors off is the hypocrisy demonstrated by the likes of the minister in the attempt to hide the very large number of alleged crimes being committed and the pitiful lies that are being told in trying to do so.
It is patently clear to the world what the problem is in Malaysia and it surely is not Zunar.
RM2.6 Billion Turkey Haram: Salleh, the very fact that PM Najib Razak himself volunteered to stand for election simply means that he is prepared for public scrutiny, rightly or wrongly.
Never a leader in advanced countries, saved the communists, is immune from ridicule and insult. Zunar is just doing what a dissatisfied citizen would do in a civilised country. If indeed Najib is afraid of ridicule, the best option is to resign.
Negarawan: Salleh, many will beg to differ. It is people like you who embarrass the country, because you do not have any integrity and honesty to admit the truth.
Instead you and other Umno propagandists choose to disseminate distorted and unfounded information to exonerate Najib.
The international community clearly do not believe in your propaganda because the evidence against Najib and 1MDB are simply overwhelming.
Investigators from more than six countries, including the US Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, have very strong justifications to pursue this case. No other leader in Malaysian history has caused Malaysia so much disgrace and embarrassment.
We have reasons to be very proud of Zunar and other champions in Malaysia who are revealing the massive corruption behind 1MDB.
Speaking Sense: As usual, Salleh knows more about talking than about what he is talking about.
It is not Zumar who embarrasses the country; if what he depicts is not happening, there would have been no embarrassment and no interest to anyone. And if what he depicts is not true, everyone will just have a good laugh.
But if it is true, then it becomes more than an embarrassment; it is a crime and a scandal, and a disdain for the people who voted for those responsible. In which case, they should be punished by the law, the real law, that is.
RCZ: Indeed, the criticism of Najib does not embarrass the country. Najib and his merry men do. And they not only embarrass the country, they destroy it too.
And one more thing. I did not vote for Najib. Umno did and despite all things being rotten, Umno is keeping him as their leader and by extension the PM.
Victor Johan: Salleh said, "It is not wrong to have differences in opinion, or to disagree with the government, but why involve other countries?" Really?
Why then did Najib get the Saudi foreign minister to get involved and make a half-baked statement apparently to denounce Najib's alleged embezzling of a huge sum of money through 1MDB?
Malaysia888: I am a Malaysian, I don't feel insulted because I did nothing wrong. Why would Najib feel insulted if he is innocent.
If he was sincere he could have provided all the information, cleared himself and even sued his critics. But he did not. I wonder why.
Cmfoo: Settle it in Malaysia you say, Salleh? Using the Sedition Act to arrest, threaten and charge a harmless cartoonist, is that what you call fair play and freedom to voice opinion?
It's guys like you that put Malaysia into disrepute and bad light internationally.
Fernz: Najib is not Malaysia. The country is bigger than Najib.
Many cartoonists and stand-up comedians make fun of US President Barack Obama. He doesn't go berserk. His administration doesn't issue statements on such matters. His officials don't try to outdo one another in demolishing such criticism.
There's so much pettiness and childishness in this country. The bottom line is that the people have decided that Najib cannot be trusted because he has allegedly abused positions of trust. The question that arises is why he's still hanging around when he's no longer wanted.
No point harping on being democratically elected. Is there such a thing as being undemocratically elected?
Of course, every Tom, Dick and Harry will claim to be democratically elected. So what? The point is that no one is democratically elected to do the things for which he was not democratically elected.
Well Thats Fantastic: Every politician in just about every country must face the scrutiny and ridicule of ordinary people.
If they can't take the heat they should leave the kitchen, not destroy the stove.
