The condition of Jelebu MP Zainuddin Ismail, who underwent a surgery to remove a tumour in his brain at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) on Friday, is said to be improving.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Azalina Othman Said said she was informed about Zainuddin's progress during her meeting with his wife Fauziah Yaakub recently.

“All the cabinet ministers and I are deeply concerned about what happened to Zainuddin and hope that his family will remain strong and patient.

"I pray that he will have a speedy recovery so that he can return to work and serve the people," she said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur today.

On Friday, Zainuddin was rushed to the Jelebu Hospital and later taken to HKL after he fell unconscious at his home.

Azalina, who is also Pengerang MP, was confident that the Jelebu MP service centre machinery would be able to serve and take of the welfare of the people in the constituency while Zainuddin was undergoing treatment.
