PKR has ordered party secretary-general Rafizi Ramli to hand over any evidence surrounding the 'money and women' allegations received by the National Oversight and Whistleblowers Centre directly to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the matter was decided by the party's political bureau at its meeting tonight.

"At the same time, the political bureau will also be scrutinising the allegations and if found to have involved any party members, the member will be made to face PKR's disciplinary committee," she told reporters at PKR headquarters after chairing the meeting.

Rafizi was absent from the meeting which Wan Azizah confirmed had discussed allegations that first surfaced through his WhatsApp message in the 'Solidarity for Anwar' group that was later leaked to the media.

"It was not leaked by him (Rafizi)," she added.

Rafizi had in the message said he received a complaint from a “bona fide person that apart from money, now there are also requests for women when dealing with the (Selangor) state government”.



In response, Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali had described the latest allegations as a systematic smear campaign against the state government.

Azmin was also absent from the weekly meeting.

On speculations over calls for Rafizi to be replaced as secretary-general, Wan Azizah merely said: "The matter was not discussed".

The calls were purportedly made in the wake of two explosive issues, the leaked WhatsApp conversation, and expose of a scathing letter from jailed former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim cautioning the party from getting too chummy with former PM Mahathir Mohamad and reminding them not forget the principles of reformasi.

'Pakatan Harapan to meet on Thursday'



Separately, Harapan chief secretary Saifuddin Abdullah also told reporters that the federal opposition pact will be holding its presidential council meeting on Thursday.

Harapan is expected to finalise and announce which party or parties that would field its candidates in the upcoming Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-election.

So far there has been no guarantee that Harapan could prevent a three-cornered fight against Barisan Nasional after both Parti Amanah Negara and Islamist party PAS declared that they would be contesting the seats.

Analysts say that multi-corner fights are inevitable in the two seats, which will adversely affect the opposition's chances.
