Nurulhidayah, the daughter of Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, recalled how her late husband had an impeccable sense of humour.
She saw Syed Alman Zain Syed Alwi, 44, for the last time yesterday morning before the two of them left separately for work.
"He never wished me goodbye on the telephone, never. But yesterday before going off, he shouted, 'bye' from downstairs," she was quoted as saying by Bernama.
"He is really funny... a good son, father, responsible husband," she told reporters when met at the funeral this morning.
Nurulhidayah said she was still in her office when she received the shocking news about her husband's death around 8pm.
Upon learning of her husband's demise, Nurulhidayah had shared a photo of her and Syed Alman on her Instagram account last night.
The caption read: "Al Fatihah. Syed Alman Zain bin Syed Alwi. Great Papa. Responsible husband. I lost someone that I can argue with. Bye Sayang."
Syed Alman Zain passed away in Bangsar yesterday.
The deceased was reported to have gone to a dental clinic with a friend around 6pm for treatment when he became unconscious.
A family member said Syed Alman Zain was rushed to University Malaya Medical Centre where he was confirmed to have breathed his last.
Health Minister Dr S Subramaniam said that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
