Umno Youth information chief Jamawi Jaafar has called on opposition parties not to implicate or blame Umno for their squabbling.

He said this revealed the "half baked" politics of DAP, which often looked for faults in others but never reflected on its own shortcomings.

Jamawi was commenting on DAP Youth chief Wong Kah Woh, who dragged Umno into his response to PAS Youth chief Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Aziz.

This is over Nik Abduh's claim that DAP had provided "liquor" to certain ex-PAS members, who then formed Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) in their drunken stupor.

"Don't always think in a half-baked manner to claim that PAS has learned the tactics of Umno in dishing out baseless claims," Jamawi told Wong.

"On the contrary, Wong should advise his friends in the opposition who make vile statements, slander and allegations against Umno leaders," he was quoted as saying by Umno Online.

Jamawi also urged opposition leaders, including those in PAS, to resolve their respective internal conflicts without involving Umno.

Amanah had also lashed out at Nik Abduh over his comments, claiming that it was the latter and other PAS leaders who appeared inebriated.

Communication director Khalid Samad noted how the PAS Youth chief and others had dressed in the costumes of ancient Malay warriors during the wing's annual meet on Tuesday.

He claimed that one sign of drunkenness is that a person believes he or she is in a different time period.

Amanah was formed in the aftermath of PAS and DAP severing ties and the collapse of the opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat.
