The High Court has set June 17 for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s press secretary to file his statement of defence in former Kedah menteri besar Mukhriz Mahathir’s defamation suit against him.

Mukhriz’s lawyer Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla told reporters that deputy registrar K Pavani who set the date when the case was brought for mention today also fixed July 14 for case management before Justice Roslan Abu Bakar.

Mukhriz, 51, sued Tengku Sharifuddin Tengku Ahmad, 54, on May 3, alleging that the defendant had slandered him in four statements issued on April 15, 20, 23 and 26.
