Former Bond Girl Michelle Yeoh today became the latest in a growing list of celebrities to visit tsunami-hit Indonesian province of Aceh, assessing needs ahead of a major benefit concert.

The Malaysian actress, who stared with 007 Pierce Brosnan in Tomorrow Never Dies arrived in the devastated province accompanied by singer Will I.Am of US hip hop act "Black Eyed Peas", representing the charity Force of Nature.

"Today we are specifically here to know the needs of the people of Aceh, to assess the situation here," Yeoh told journalists during a visit to an elementary school in the Tanjung Selamat area of Banda Aceh.

Malaysian-based Force of Nature is staging a disaster fund-raising concert on Friday in Kuala Lumpur featuring the Black Eyed Peas, boy band Backstreet Boys, R and B stars Boyz II Men, Lauryn Hill and rapper Wyclef Jean.

Yeoh said Force of Nature, formed to help tsunami victims, would focus on education and the building of schools and homes for survivors.

The actress, whose visit was sponsored by the UN World Food Programme, was also accompanied by Nori Abdullah, the daughter of Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Aceh, which bore the brunt of the Dec 26 tsunami has welcomed a parade of celebrities since the disaster ranging from movie stars to figures such as UN chief Kofi Annan and former US president Bill Clinton.
